This unit really laid out what I thought was an obvious problem. I knew about the different aspects of tenses but I didn't understand the general rules and exceptions to these rules. Demonstrating the subtle differences to a class about these differences is almost certain to run into confusion for the students, and trying to put a solution in terms they will understand will run into confusion of the teacher. This unit has shown me more about my own misunderstandings than it has taught me about English. Good problems to run into before I get in front of a class. Now I can try to work around these problems, which gives me a head start.
