This unit has reminded me of how much native English speakers don't think about the present being divided into four different tenses. I had to essentially re-learn the whole present tense and how to make the sentences positive, negative, and in question form. I think this unit has been helpful for being able to teach each tense and to remember which is which. Learning how to form sentences in each tense and the differences between the two is helpful to translate it into teaching what I just re-learned. Identifying which tense a given sentence is, and learning how to change the base form is key in both learning and teaching the language. As I re-learned this tense, I found ways to best remember what sentence structure goes with which tense. Remembering these can be helpful in teaching them in the future.
