This unit covers the different types of ESL students (young learners, adults, professionals) and classes (groups, one-to-one, business) as well as a variety of teaching techniques tailored to each. It was mentioned in previous units that you can usually rely on games as gap fillers if you happen to run out material in a group lessons. However, it was interesting to note that conversely, the advice given for one-to-one classes is to always over prepare materials. Of course as the burden of gap filling falls solely on the teacher in one-to-one lessons, this is surely useful advise.
The amount of this unit dedicated to the teaching business classes highlighted how diverse they can be. The variation of needs and language levels (in group classes) requires more careful i.e longer lesson preparation time. Therefore I image business classes are possibly the most challenging to teach.
