In this Unit I have learnt some useful tips for teaching different groups, including beginners, individual students, young children and business people. The methodology and techniques described for each of these groups were very useful and relevant. Of particular relevance, for example, for beginners, is controlling the language, pacing the lesson, avoiding use of mother-tongue and being as visual as possible and so on. In the sections regarding classroom discipline and management, I have gained a better understanding of why children might show disruptive behaviour and how I as a teacher might be able to deal with such behaviour. The Dos and Don'ts are particularly useful. In addition, I have really found it useful to know about the Needs Analysis and how to approach planning English course for business people.
