Verb tenses may be considered as one of the trickiest topics in English grammar. In the Philippines, for example, students encounter it over and over again through their elementary and high school days, but still fail to master its proper usage. While there are many factors that contribute to this failure of mastery, I think that one of the most apparent reasons is how this topic is discussed with the students. I think that students tend to hate -- and therefore fail to master -- the topic largely because of how it is taught. So, I think that this unit has provided very helpful instructional ideas that would help students overcome whatever struggles they encounter with this topic.
