This unit was actually a good review and more of the linguistic courses I took in college. I say "and more" because obviously I did not learn about ways to teach pronunciation and phonemes to students in any of my linguistics courses. It is certainly not for a beginner I would not think to outright start them off with phoneme charts. It can be a lot to take in if you are learning the alphabet one day and the next learning all the phonemic symbols. That would be utterly tragic to say the least.
