This unit was about the productive skills: reading and writing. Reading skills can be taught using a variety of accuracy and fluency activities while writing skills could be improved using activities centered around handwriting, spelling, and punctuation. Writing can be a very difficult topic for students and I like that this unit employed different games as an option as a way to better engage students and peak their interest in to wanting to improve their handwriting. The different games we used to play as a child are great examples on how to do this.
