Unit 16 was very eye-opening in that being a native English speaker, I really don't think about the structure of conditionals and reported speech when I'm actively using them. However, learning in depth how they're structured, I can see how confusing it would be to an ESL student. Prior to this unit, I was not aware of the different levels of conditionals. However, having covered the tenses already, it was easier to grasp how they're structured. I believe this unit would also be the most confusing to an ESL student because of all of the exceptions and changes that can take place in relation to verb tenses, patterns, pronouns, questions, and time expressions.
