This unit covered the identifying characteristics of the different present tenses which are important to know as an ESL teacher. As a native speaker many of these forms are intuitive, so it was nice to see them broken down systematically regarding the specific circumstances of their use. This breakdown was useful for me, but at the same time I have to wonder how I might go about explaining the timing of these tenses effectively to learners whose grammatical conception of time is different from English.
