In Unit 2 I have learned about the parts of speech, the followings were the most useful to me: The unit made me understand the difference between the adjectives and the adverbs and made me clear how to explain them to learners. Adjectives can describe, modify, qualify nouns or pronouns. The adverbs answering the “how” question modify verbs, but never modify nouns. I have found it very useful that I was given a basic rule on how to put adjectives in order: size-age-color-material-noun. I have also learned the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs. Transitive verbs are followed by an object, because they do something to someone or something. Intransitive verbs stand alone, they simply do an action, often related to time, place, frequency. Intransitive verbs do not do anything to anyone or any thing. The unit gave me a guideline for the use of the definite article, especially for geographical use.
