Conditionals:
Zero: It's used to talk about situations that are generally or always true. Ex: If you heat ice, it melts. (if/when) + Present simple + present simple.
First: Usages: Likely results of possible future situations. Promises, threats or warnings and back-up plans. Ex: If I win the lottery, I will take you on a cruise. ( If + Presente simple, will + base form verb)
Second: Usages: Dreams, fantasies and hypothetical situations. Ex: If I wasn't sitting here now, I could be on a beach. ( If + past simple or past continuous, May, might or could + base form verb)
Third: Usages: Regrets and excuses. Ex: If I had won, I would have taken you on a cruise. (If + Past perfect, would, could or might + have + past participle.)
Mixed: Deals with the present results of imaginary situations in the past. Ex: If I had won the lottery, we could be on a ship now. ( If + past perfect, could, would or might + bases form verb)
