Before this unit I was completely ignorant of the many varieties of teaching techniques. However, in my high school and college years I was a student of French and I can vividly recall my teachers using these methods. Now that I am familiar with the nuances behind their practices, I can better imagine myself using them when I am in my own classroom. It is a relief to know that a teacher is not expected to merely improvise, even in countries like Korea where the "guest English teacher" does not teach grammar. The tools presented in this unit has given me confidence that I will be able to determine how I can best help students learn English.
