Teachers have many different roles, and often take on new roles as a lesson progresses. A good teacher will have often have good students, who in turn will (or will become) good learners. Good learns take an active role in the learning progress and display curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to take lingual risks. Learners will differ in learning experience, motivation, language awareness, and more. This is often a result of age/life experience. Learners can also differ as a result of the culture in which they were raised. There are six levels of language learning, starting with "Beginners" and ending with "Advanced". A student's language level is dependent on their fluency, the range of topics on which they can speak, understanding of grammar, and ability to study and understand the subtleties of a language.
