This unit explained how to use different course materials such as textbooks, authentic materials and created materials. I am so accustomed to textbooks and created materials that it did not occur to me that I could use authentic materials as a way to help better teach. When I want to illustrate something, my thoughts go straight to a picture. Older students would more be able to read about the topics through newspapers, menus, etc. I also liked the examples of the different created materials that could be used.
