This unit covered materials and course books. Materials are divided into two main parts and they are Authentic and Created Materials. Authentic materials are not designed for EFL students and they are not graded to level. In addition, they should be carefully selected and they are real and more interesting, which make students gain confidence when they understand them, whereas Created Materials are usually designed by the teacher to supplement or replace materials from a course books. Course books usually consists of a set of materials, such as student’s book, workbook, and teacher’s books, etc. One of advantages of using course books are they provide a balance mix of grammar and vocabulary, however, one of disadvantages is it does not always fit the specific needs of all the class members.
