In unit 7,it basically covers three main topics by elaborating how to deliver new vocabulary, how to teach language functions and how to introduce grammatical structures. Regarding on teaching vocabulary, it basically discussed the factors can affect to teach vocabulary in easy or difficulty ways; also the criteria can be used to select vocabulary; the factors that students need to know when learning a new vocabulary; the important techniques to teach vocabulary to students and also in this section a typical ESA vocabulary lesson is exemplified to elaborate further. In terms of introducing grammatical structures, the techniques for presenting and practicing language structures are discussed. Furthermore, a typical ESA grammar lesson was given, the example was used a typical ESA patchwork grammar lesson for mid level students. language also consists of functions, so the teaching language functions is also discussed in this Unit. What I gained is that language functions include areas such as inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing,suggesting,etc. and for teaching language functions also includes appropriateness of the language in terms of the kind of language they use-formal,informal,tentative,technical etc. In this section, I also have reviewed a typical function ESA boomerang type lesson that was given. As a whole, from this Unit I was able to learn suitable activities for each lesson topic and how to build them into an effective lesson structure.
