Evaluation of a students' level of English is part and parcel of teaching English. Whether it be young learners who are learning the foundations of English in a more playful way or adult students who wish to advance in their careers or studies evaluation to some degree comes with the territory. Many might argue for one form of test or another but in my opinion I would be more interested in the student actually learning the language. Naturally I would help a student who was only interested in passing the test as well.
