The simple future is used with facts and certainties, promises, predictions, assumptions, decisions and threats. Used with will (and sometimes shall)+verb. Future continuous again emphasizes an activity rather than consequences or sequence at a particular point in the future. It may be in progress at a specific time, we may be predicting what someone is doing now or in the future, or asking about another person's plans for a specific time. Form is will+be+verb ing, and students often forget part due to long structure. Future perfect is used to talk about achievements we know/expect to be accomplished by a certain time (like a deadline). The form is will+have+past participle, and the "deadline" needs to be stated or known. The future perfect continuous is very similar to the future perfect, except it talks about the duration of an action (expected to continue into the future) by a certain point in the future - like an anniversary. This is often used to talk about records and accomplishments, as well as jobs and other states of being: by my 35th birthday I'll have been teaching for 10 years. The form is will-have-been-verb ing Similar to the future simple, "going to" expresses a certain intent to do something in the future, and is also used to make predictions and plans. It is usually used with definite decisions. The form follows going-to-verb. Both present simple and present continuous can be used with the future. Schedules are facts about the future and use the simple present, while a decision can be made about the future which uses the present continuous: I'm getting a dog.
