Unit 6 covered the grammatical rules of the past tense and its four versions - past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. When teaching tenses to a class, it is important to predict the mistakes and errors that could occur during a lesson and be ready to correct them when they come up. Just as in previous lessons, it is important to correct in a manner that encourages the student to recognize the mistake and understand the reason for the correction. This is especially important with this unit, because grammar rules are not always the easiest to follow and sometimes have odd exceptions to the rule, such as the use of irregular verbs in association with the past simple tense.
