Generally, the first part of this lesson was fairly easy because it dealt primarily with course materials. Authentic materials referred to any naturally generic material the native speaker hears, reads or interact with in the process of learning the language. Crated materials are basically made up for teacher certain aspects of the language. Course books are texts that are designed for language learning. The course books have both advantages and disadvantages; however, EFL teachers should make the best use of course books by having a critical approach and not expecting the book to be the only or major source of teaching and learning. As a guide, this material is essential; however, EFL teachers must have the needs and interests of their students as the central and guiding factor in determining the assets of the course book. In analyzing a course book it is important for one to consider aspects such as, the cost, the level of difficulty, the methodology, skill-mix and/or syllabus, the availability, design, and the ancillary materials such as the teacher's guide, workbooks, website resources, other accompanying materials, and etcetera. The part that dealt with the Boomerang lesson was a challenge. I am still not sure how to identify the various parts of the lesson. I believe, I understand individually and generally the Engage, Study and Activate activities; however, ordering them in this unit proved quite a challenge!
