This unit introduced methods of teaching grammar, vocabulary, and language functions. One of the most important things to keep in mind when teaching students these parts of the English language is to make sure they are getting enough exposure to the language, are understanding its meaning, know how to construct it, and are able to practice and produce the language properly. Grammar and vocabulary are best taught with a straight-arrow ESA approach and functions-based lessons are best taught with either a boomerang or patchwork ESA approach.
