In this final unit we learn a lot about the different forms of testing available; for example, TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC and the Cambridge Assessment. We also learn when to test students and why. For instance, at the beginning of a course will determine what level and throughout will help the teacher understand what the students are retaining. There is a good description on why it is appropriate to give tests at different stages. The examples sections on page 4 and 5 are some useful examples of language skills placement tests.
