This unit's material highlighted the formation with a lesson plan, which provides a visual framework for those entering the ESL community and some context to how many ESL organizations will expect the teacher to prepare the day's lesson. I was particularly interested in the Monitoring Lessons sheet, which would be difficult to apply to all lessons, but would be useful to do for experimental lessons and lessons that the students may not have engaged with in the ways the teacher may have expected. It highlights the need to be self-aware and self-critical to ensure that the learner is getting the best experience and that the teacher remains a valuable commodity to the school or academy.
