This unit went over the productive skills of reading and writing. From the text, I learned that there are basically only four reasons that people communicate; however the video summed it up as just two basic reasons, a need/want to speak, or a desire to achieve something. I retained the tip: Extensive reading helps with spelling. I think reading extensively can also help improve writing in it's own way. In addition, I learned that I could use the game "Connect 4" with a twist on it, to turn it into a learning based activity. The last thing that I took away, is that with enough creativity, many popular games can be used for learning/teaching another language.
