Fascinating. The teacher in the first lesson was so terrible. He introduced a grammatical concept with a highly technical name and expected students without well developed language skills to immediately understand it. He then made them feel bad when they didn't know the answer. He also made them feel bad by saying the concept was easy to understand, multiple times. He didn't smile, introduce himself, monitor student activity, or try to get to know his students names. It was a terrible lesson (where he often kept his back to his students and didn't make effective use of the board) that was difficult to watch.
The second lesson was fun and engaging. The teacher introduced himself, involved all of the students in the lesson, and looked like he genuinely loved being there. He let the students demonstrate their knowledge which made them feel good and helped them to feel willing to participate. He linked his grammatical advice effectively in the study phase with work sheets. He didn't make students feel bad if they made a mistake. He used gestures and mimes to demonstrate words and animals, even crawling on the floor at one point. And the activate stage lesson helped the students to explore their creativity. I hope I can teach like this one day.
