This lesson covered teaching the productive skills which are speaking and writing. it covered the differences between accuracy and fluency and which one is more important. the chapter demonstrated the different types of speaking activities that can be used in the classroom. also it mentioned the ways that you can encourage students to speak and the techniques to encourage interaction. The second part of the chapter which was teaching writing, it covered the things that needs to be considered when teaching writing. The last part of the lesson discussed different types of games that can be used in an ESL class.
What i have benefited from the unit was planning typical lessons for speaking and writing, and also the things to be considered when teaching them. Lastly i have learnt from the unit some useful games that can be used in the classroom.
