This unit is about putting together all that had been learned in the previous units by observing two videos of the same lesson taught in real time. The first showed mistakes or what should not happen in each unit and the second a more successful lesson. I saw that the teacher's attitude to the students and to teaching, language to communicate so that the students could learn and preparation are so important. He had realia present to help understanding and learning; used the board well so that the students could copy the structure of the grammar point they were practicing in the activate phase and he involved students and checked understanding. He scaffolded the grammar point so that the students felt comfortable with giving answers throughout the lesson so that during the Activate phase they did the mill drill enthusiastically.
i learned that my attitude and expectations of the students should come through teacher talk as well as the boardwalk and activities i have devised. I am good at creating rapport with the students and will think more carefully about how I can explain ideas and give instructions. I think i will experiment more with board work with teacher talk to explain ideas
