Unit 19 talks about teaching English to special groups of students such as beginners, individual students, children, and business people. I find the 17 tips for teaching beginners submitted on page 2 very useful as a methodology to conduct the classes. A classic mistake that most ESL teachers make is to overuse student’s mother language in class to explain something. On the other hand, using English most of the time can improve the student’s language skills. I particularly love to instruct children because they can pick new knowledge up very quickly. Additionally, children wouldn’t be afraid of making a mistake. Even when teaching business English is not my number one goal, I consider the ESP section very innovative and informative.
