Unit 5 provided a very vast amount of information on lesson planning, including what should be included in a lesson plan and how to effectively plan lessons and ensure that you are organised. I learnt that the methods used to plan a lesson are highly dependent on the individual and that keeping the lesson plan simple and structured is extremely important. Timing also plays a key role with lesson planning, in the sense that you must always ensure you provide a suitable amount of time for each part of the lesson so that it has a smooth flow. As always, the ESA teaching method should be used for guidance and also for getting the maximum effectiveness out of the lesson which you teach.
