Unit 2 is comprised of relevant theories, methods and techniques to develop a fruitful class experience for teachers and students. There are several teaching methods presented including communicative language teaching and tasked based learning. These methods vary in execution and intended results, showing that it is up to the teacher to chose those that will best fit the class and deliver the information. A prevalent and noteworthy component to Unit 2 is "ESA" (engage, study, activity) which can be the basis of class direction. "ESA" and its variants, straight arrow, patchwork and boomerang pattern, are covered in depth in the unit through explanations and examples of individual stages and progression. Also covered is the topic of mistake/error correction, when it is appropriate and how to address said mistakes.
