Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

In this unit I saw a contrast between a bad and a good lesson. In the first video, the teacher didn't create rapport with the students (he didn't present himself and didn't know the students' names). Also, he kept repeating that "this is very easy, everyone knows the answer" so the students were very uncomfortable to participate in the class out of fear to make a mistake. In addition, the teacher never praised the students if they gave a correct answer and he was constantly frowning because the students made mistakes and didn’t give or know the answers. In the second video, the teacher came into the room, presented himself and asked the students names, so he immediately created rapport with the class. Besides, he was smiling all the time and elicited correct answers by miming or saying “nearly” when the students doubted or made a mistake and never said just “no”. Moreover, he used prompts (pictures) of animals to help the students, gap-filling and drilling exercises. Also, the students worked in pairs, so they had another students’ help while filling the worksheets. Consequently, the students where more willing to participate in the class and they actually learned, so I could see a very good example of how the teachers’ attitude can affect the effectiveness of the lesson.
