In this unit I learned the best way to introduce and teach new language based on what the students may already know, such as the similarity to their spoken native language as well as pronunciation. There is also a breakdown of the different ESA structures; "straight arrow approach", "patchwork" and "boomerang". I think the most important thing I learned from this unit was the structure in which to introduce and teach new language words and sentence structure. It is very easy to overwhelm new students with a bunch of information but these methods help make the learning fun as well as enable the students to retain and absorb the new information.
