In this unit we learned about methodologies in EFL teaching which include Grammar Translation, Audio lingualism, PPP, Task Based, Communicative Language Teaching, The Silent Way, Suggestopaedia, The Lexical Approach. Out of all I think I often use the PPP, Tasked Based and Communicative Language Teaching approach most of the time at work. All of them combine together offer me the flexibility to work with the student in a variety of ways and help them get full practice of the language. PPP lets me introduce the language to them and present them the lesson and also give my students a sort pr test before I launch them into task based learning because I am able to check if they are understanding the lesson. Next approaching them with a Communicative Language Teaching helps me to get the students comfortable in talking in English with being so afraid to make mistakes. What I learned in this lesson was ESA which is also a nice pattern involving these methodologies together giving a more clear and concise lesson. I never noticed but when I read I realised I had been using this pattern already in my teaching and now I will do it more consciously and also try the boomerang method which is also great for students I face a lot of challenging lessons with.
