This unit covered teaching pronunciation and phonology. It is increasingly fascinating learning about the intricacies of a language that Ive been speaking all my life. The phonetic alphabet was a bit hard for me but a fun challenge. I was surprised to learn that pronunciation is one of the more neglected aspects of ESL teaching because I would expect it to be one of the most important. I imagine in my classroom I am going to put a lot of emphasis on students taking their time to correctly pronounce words.
