I found it interesting to look more into the various teaching methodologies and compare them with the styles that the four teachers I co-teach with use. I was able to draw comparisons to their teaching styles and make notes of specific things that I had already found were problematic, such as the translation method resulting in students learning "about" the language rather than how to communicate in it. I've noticed a difference in ability between multiple students in the same school and grade and I attribute that difference to the teacher and teaching style, so I think I've already developed my own beliefs into what parts of each method are positive and effective, and I can see how the ESA method draws from the best points of these methods. I'm looking forward to being able to make classes flow more effectively by using ESA patterns to engage the class.
