Lesson plans are important part of any teacher's everyday functions. They help you see what has already been covered, what needs focus, and what the objectives are. There is some controversy about using lesson plans too strictly. One school of thought is that the use of lesson plans leads to following too closely to what the class was intended to be about...instead of using the lesson plan as more of a "guide." My teaching style has always been to adapt to the class that I have been dealt, and this means using the lesson plan as more of a guide.
