This was another great unit for basics, but this time it concerned grammar, which I was lucky enough to have had in high school. And, as a French teacher, I need to know basic grammar in both English and French. Though this helped me to understand the unit material fairly easily, it was a tremendous help with how to explain English grammar to non-native speakers. I’m not sure how well I would have done with my explanations without reading this unit! Knowing how to use parts of speech and knowing how to explain what they do can be two different things, and I feel a lot more ready to explain English grammar to students now.
