Past tenses are not the most complicated tenses in terms of grammatical structure if we teach them separetly, however when mixed with present tenses they tend to be a bit more difficult to understand, specially the past simple and the present perfect, which tend to confuse students more often than not. Knowing the rules to these tenses can make their use and explanation less complicated. In general, I consider this unit to be very useful in terms of explaning the rules of the past tense and showing the common mistakes made by students of English.
