As someone who loves learning new languages, even if only to get by with a few words when passing through a new country, I recognize the importance of being aware of the factors that determine how easy or difficult it will be to learn new vocabulary. Given the fact that English is a language that is often seen as "complimentary" when growing up in Scandinavia, this unit/chapter reminded me that this is not the case for many other nationalities, and that as a teacher I will have to have this in mind at all time.
