In this Unit, I learned different parts of speech. I first learned that a sentence must have a subject, verb, and object. After I learned about nouns and their main types, the plurals, the countable nouns and the uncountable nouns. Next, I read about adjectives, adverbs, verbs, gerunds, articles, pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions. For each parts of speech, I learned each and every type under its umbrella. For me, as a native born English speaker, I have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing all of these parts of speech. When I speak, I do not think of all of these terms and explanations, it just comes naturally. I find it very refreshing to relearn all of these topics. I think the most challenging to teach my students will be verbs and their conjugations since there are so many exceptions.
