The attitude of the teacher will show up in the lesson. The students were more willing to participate in the second lesson because their instructor Simon, was more positive towards them.
It seemed that in the first lesson, the instructor did not have a lesson thought out fully and he was not engaged. He was on his phone and was condescending toward the students. In the second lesson, he took time to learn names and explain the lesson thoroughly. He gave students time to respond and did not negatively react when correct answers were not given.
