Unit 6 shows video examples of one lesson that was effectively and ineffectively taught to a group of learners. Video 1 highlighted many errors that teachers can make, such as not building appropriate rapport, not speaking slowly and clearly, not explaining directions in a clear manner, and not having a positive and encouraging attitude towards the students. On the other hand, Video 2 was a great example of how to effectively manage a lesson and classroom. In Video 2, the teacher was friendly and personable, chose his words clearly to avoid confusion, and helped the students to learn in an comfortable environment. The teacher clearly divides the lesson into the appropriate phases, and uses appropriate activities to elicit responses and in encouraging way.
