When working through this unit I realised what was missing during my own school education, there was a time when student-focussed lesson where not encouraged and all lessons where only teacher-led. I also realised the importance of engaging the students to encourage them to participate by either prompting them to join conversations and use creative means to keep their attention. The different types of methodologies listed in the unit was a good reflection on what different lesson plans can be built upon and how they influenced current TEFL teaching methods either in theory or practice. This can also help for future lesson plans to refer back to when there is a specific language point that could be best described by an unorthodox method which students will remember easier.
