This unit served as a good reminder of the importance of lesson planning. I recently graduated with my teaching degree and when I jumped into my first job I forgot the importance of lesson planning. It was less time consuming to go without lesson plans but it often left gaps in my lessons. I quickly kicked it back into gear and started planning out my instruction. With lesson planning, it helps see what gaps you have in your instruction. I have never taught English as a foreign language, so at first I will definitely be detailed in my planning. Once I become more comfortable, I can make my notes more simple but structured enough to tell what I'm doing.
