In this unit, I was able to learn about the variety of tests used not only by teachers, but also by establishments like colleges to determine the English level of participants. Tests can be categorized into several groups: placement tests, diagnostic tests, progress tests, external tests, and practice tests. Each of these are used to measure fluency, however they typically serve different purposes. For example, progress tests are used by teachers to determine if their students have been able to retain information from previous lessons.
