Unit 1 was a basic overview of what attributes make a good teacher and a good student. The unit also provided an overview of common definitions while teaching English as a second language, including teaching styles and the common European Framework for assessing student language skills. The key takeaway I received from this unit was related to the different teaching styles. I found it helpful that the unit provided examples of when to use certain styles over others.
