Lesson plans are a critical part of the teaching process. A good lesson plan will ground the teacher's objective and show the path to achieving that objective. For inexperienced teachers a lesson plan will likely need significant detail. As a teacher gains experience, the lesson plan might be less detailed. It is, however, still needed. A good lesson plan is like a good map- it shows you the way to the destination. Within the teaching context, the destination is a measurable, student outcome.
