There are 3 key points I have learnt through these units.
Firstly, aware there are some elements of being a teacher and I recognised myself as both tutor & manager. With my education background,I was in the learning environement of self-learn; create solutions to problem. As student, we analyzed different cases and work together as team to present our solution. This encouraged us to express ideas and work on our public speaking skills as well during presentation.
Secondly, we have to take on both teaching & learning roles as well. By putting ourselves in learner's shoes, able to keep track and monitor the learning process & be open about feedback from students. By having 2 way communication, as a teacher I can figure out what is best way my student is able to learn & improve efficiently.
Lastly, different language level is a frame to show quantity of knowledge on each learner. This is important as teacher is able to teach and communicate differently for learner to improve as well. For example, as an adult, his english is basic level and struggles to read sentences. As a teacher, I do not expect him to read the whole book, but giving him better experience in exploring simple words he can use in real life. Learner will find it fun to learn english and I am able to guide him easily as well.
