This unit discussed conditionals and direct speech sentence patterns. Communicating what someone else said, about an event or person in a different period of time, is difficult for even native speakers. I thought there was much variation in repeating "hearsay" or relaying another conversation to another person. However, the rules set forth in this unit lead me to believe otherwise. It isn't so cut and dried.
