The material in this unit was very unfamiliar to me; or, at the very least, it included information that I do not typically think about as a native English speaker. This unit covers the phonology of the English language, including the phonetic alphabet, how we pronounce certain syllables, how we form sounds by the physiology of our mouths and vocal cords, and how we as teachers can help to instruct non-native English learners to properly and effectively pronouce words/phrases when speaking in English.
